Summary of GMS features for Inspections:

  1. Paperless

·         No more shuffling papers trying to locate a team's Checklist

Functions on Tablets (for LRI / RIs)

  1. Pit Map with color coding for current Team Inspection states.

·         Useful for locating teams that need to be inspected or re-inspected

·         Pit map also shows if team is On field, Queuing, or in their Pit.

  1. Tabular view is color coded and sortable by any column

·         Sorting by Team Number or Name helps locate a team quickly

·         Sorting by ' Number of Pending Checklist Items' finds teams with incomplete checklists

·         Sorting by Rank lists the top teams for Playoff re-inspections

·         Sorting by 'Assigned RI' can help locate an RI

 

 

 

  1. Current Inspection Checklist for each team

·         Continue or review an inspection that was started by someone else

  1. Notes on each team, using Pictures, Text, Video, or Drawings

·         Pictures of robot during initial weigh-in helps detect later modifications

·         Pictures of questionable construction to document changes requested

·         Annotate pictures to highlight specific areas of concern

·         Take videos of out-of-frame excursions during a match

     

 

  1. Change Team Inspection status from the Team State screen

·         Unbagged, Weighed, Safety Checked, Qualifications, Eliminations

·         Mark team for Re-inspection (mandatory) or Re-check (discretionary)

·         Referees on field can flag a team with issues and add notes indicating concerns,

·         RIs in the pits can resolve the issues and clear the flag

·         Queuers have up-to-date info on whether a robot is allowed on the field

·         Helps sequence / prioritize inspections

  1. Assign RIs to inspect a team

·         RIs can also assign themselves or escalate an issue to the LRI

Functions on the Laptop (for IM)

All Inspection functions are available on the tablets.  The laptop has most Inspection functions and adds "Administrative" functions.  Laptops are optional and are typically used as a Backup Server.

  1. Inspection Management functions

·         View overall Inspection status

·         View Inspection Checklists and Inspection Logs for each team

·         Change Target Inspection State

  1. User administration.

·         Add/Remove users, Change roles, Reset passwords, etc.

  1. Color coded Pit Map showing current Inspection state

·         Display cool pit map with Inspection States on a large screen

  1. Import FMS Schedules.

·         Import Excel file from FMS if Internet connectivity is lost.

  1. All state is periodically saved to the 'backup' laptop

·         A warm backup can be used if the main server somehow disappears

  1. Generate Inspection Reports (on paper or file) for any or all teams.

·         These reports can be used as a backup

  1. Publish selected Inspection information to teams

·         Teams are notified if they need to be re-inspected, and their position in the inspection queue.

  1. All state is archived periodically.  Rewind to any point and view Inspection state

·         This can be useful for post event analysis of a situation

·         View a Team's Inspection history from an earlier event.
